Question 1985 300D Fuel System Solenoid

I was doing some routine maintenance, changing the oil, and came upon a little problem. Once I was finished with the change, I started the engine to let the new oil circulate and the engine would not turn off with the use of the key. I had to pop the hood and use the manual stop. I can't figure out what wire I must have disturbed next to the oil canister that would have caused this. The manual says that if this problem occurs that there is a problem with the fuel system solenoid and just to lift the hood and use the manual stop. Once you do that, it doesn't tell you what to do about this if it continues to occur. Does anyone know how to remedy this problem where I can again use the key to my car without having to lift the hood and manually stop the engine?

When you changed the oil filter element you probably caused one of the vacuum lines going into the passenger compartment to come lose. Check the lines beside the oil filter housing.
