Euro 240D Engine Mounts & Shock

Hello All,

Well, I'm working on replacing my engine mounts and shock(s). I ordered them from Fastlane & it turns out that the mounts that came up for my 82 240D were the wrong ones. The right ones were fastlane part number A700016027. When I was down there I was looking for the engine shock & I couldn't find it! I was working on the drivers side of the engine & didn't look on the other side yet, but I didn't see anything like it there. Are there supposed to be engine shocks on a Euro & if so where exactly should I look? Phil sent me a parts diagram & I didn't see them where it showed it was supposed to be. He said I may need to order the mounting hardware for them(?) too.
Also, are there supposed to be 1 or 2 engine shocks?

Thanks for any help/suggestions!

Hummm I am going out an look. My Euro hasn't really needed much but I assumed the mounts would be the same as the rest of my 240Ds. I don't think any 240Ds have the engine shocks. I have a new mount with # 123 241 12 13 stamped on it which I assume was for one of my US 240Ds.

I have two Euro 240D's if I include my parts car. I ordered garden variety engine mounts and put them on with no problem. As I recall there is no shock on there.

Good luck,

Hmmm... I have the car up now so I can do some other work on it, so I'll see if the mounts that I have will fit. They are definitely a little different than the ones on there, but maybe they will still fit.
Do you think it's worth putting engine shocks on there while I have it up? Phil has mounting hardware kits for them & he thought all the 240's had them.

Thanks!

What part # is on the mount?

Why would you add engine shocks if the engineers that have been designing these 616 engines for years dont use them ?

Hi Stevo, The number on my mount is 123 241 5013. I just ordered the one that came up for my 82 240D off of fastlane.
The reason I was asking about adding engine shocks is that the American cars apparently have them so I was wondering if they would make a difference. The American engineers seem to have thought they were necessary, at least on some of them??

We have different numbers for what is spoz to be the same part. This mount has been kicking around my shop for some time so I wouldn't swear its a 240d mount, maybe somebody knows for sure the correct p/n for the 240d W123 motor mount.

As to the engine shocks, I don't think ANY 240Ds have them, Euro or otherwise.
