'05 E320 CDI test drive

I have had one on order for quite some time and all I still can say after todays test drive is... HOLY F&%$ing $H!T I could not believe what I was driving, a diesel? I punched it at a grean light and the rear tires lit up like a v8 gasser. Then I turned off the traction control and then this car got really wicked. I am still in amazement!!! Turned the corner punched it, broke traction and spun half way around in the intersection, The sales lady had perminant finger impressions in the oh-$H!t handle. That car is worth a test drive. Will take delivery tomorrow if I decide not to back out.

Is that at MB of Tampa? And are you buying the one you just abused, or another one?

Maybe he was just excited because he had never been able to do that in his previous diesel cars

In reality though I am sure that the one test drive(actually several) should not have a big bearing on long term reliability...and hey for a couple more grand extend the warranty to 100K if you plan on keeping it...

actually that test drive has me wanting to feel all that power although I am sure my local dealer does not have one in stock

why on earth, after that test, would you do that?

I guess you guys don't hang around new car dealerships all that often. He treated the car no different than lot attendants, sales staff and other test drivers do.. all with zero miles on the car. If you want a car that hasn't been driven at all, pick it up in Germany.

And Johns shakes us back to reality.

I may line up a test drive at the local dealer and check it out.

the car will be fine...if the car had adequte fluids etc...there should be no issue

the tech at the dealer that most of the work on my car drove my car quite hard when he took me on test drives...said he drove that way all the time....the car was either at a red light or the accelerator was on the floorboard while we were driving around

well some of the 80's cars had to be driven that way to stay with traffic.....like the 85 300SD I used to own....have the AC on and you had to floor it constantly(and cross fingers) to merge in the Dallas traffic

I was just kidding around. Actually, I was thinking about going to MB of Tampa today and offering $250 for their CDI. Since I have it on good authority that it's been raced.

I've been away from the forum for a little bit but DAYYUUMM...

Definately nice to see someone on the forum buying one of the new CDI's.....

I'd love one of these but I'll have to wait. :-(

Very nice, I really do like the styling of the new E-class. I never really warmed up the the W210 but the new version has a bit of a edge to it.

Please give us some real world mileage figures once you break it in.
