Brand New Kid On The Block!

Hi to all! I'm new on the block, not only to this forum, but also to the Mercedes Benz Diesel world. I am a car freak, and I like to make sure that my car is immaculate. What are some suggestions you all could give me about maintaining my baby (85 300SD) in top running conditions. Are there tricks I should know about? Are there things I need to keep an eye out for? Please advise.!!!!
