The oil cooler hose started to leak. I got to my destination alright, but noticed a small puddle of oil under the car as I was about to leave. It was night, so only then did I noticed the whole left side of the car was covered in oil. That explains why it was pulling hard right the last few miles of my trip during braking.

I had thought that one of things I needed to do was replace the oil cooler hoses. DON'T JUST THINK ABOUT IT, DO IT!!!! Those old ones were hard as a rock.

I really got lucky, could have roasted the engine. . .

I don't know if you need this info or if you have already repaired/replaced the lines.

You can take them to a hydraulic hose shop and they can replace the rubber portion for MUCH less money than a new set of hoses. They can probably do it with better hose than original.

hmm. . . too late now, but I see what you mean. The fittings probably cost all the money.
