signs of a bad trans mount
Hi,
I have my trans set to shift a bit firmly at the current time. WHen cold, that firm shift is retty hard. The shift actually can be felt through the whole car, and is pretty strong. Additionally, two mechanics, when driving my car for other reasons, said they seemed to feel a shafe from the front of the transmission hump. I had never pursued it, but it seems like that could be the trans mount. What is the sign of a bad trans mount? will shifts be felt harder through the car? Thanks, JMH

When I suspected either a trans or motor mount I would have someone shift the car between R and D with the foot on the brake. Look at the engine and trans for any excessive movement.
