Trunk won't open

My trunk won't open after my girlfriend locked it with the slot in the horizontal position. It's like the key wasn't made for the lock. Any suggestions as to what the problem may be, or how to open it? BTW: The vacuum system for the inside locks works fine.

Sounds like maybe you're trying to use the valet key to unlock it? Which key did it get locked with in the first place?

try inserting the key, turning it all the way counterclockwise, then pushing in the button, key and all. I bet it does the trick.

Yeah...make sure it's the door-ignition key; insert in

trunk lock, push in and turn...trunk should pop regardless of doorlock/vacuum system.

Thanks for the advice. The key button pushes in, but the key won't turn. The key always worked before. I spoke to my mechanic today and he said he can usually can free most stuck lock cases with a plastic hammer, lol. If a different key doesn't work, may have to give it the rough POW treatment.

If that fails, I'm told there's no access to the trunk through the back seat and that the lock must be drilled out. Bummer.

Sounds stupid but...

Have you tried lubricating the lock? I couldn't lock the drivers door on my car and just shot it with some lubricant, i.e. graphite and it now works great!
