Sorry, the '79 in that post should be a '75.

Production ran from '75 to '85.

You'll probably never see a '75 anywhere in the world as only 7 were built.
'85 would be tough also...only 1,897 built.

Anyone ever seen a long wheelbase model in the US ? A 134.8 inch wheelbase, eight passenger 240D sure would be slow when filled to capacity !

Well, I guess I'm one of the fortunate ones to own a w116, oh well. nananana. I must say, my w116 feels more confident on the road at 100 than the 201, 124, or 126 that my family owns. It is also better than my best friend's 108.
