Rubber Boots for Lower Ball Joints

Does anyone know where I can get the rubber boots for the lower ball joints for an '80 300SD?

I tried the dealer and searched on line parts lists. Also tried Phil at Parts Shop with no luck. They all want me to buy the compete ball joint to get just the boot.

Does any one know of an independent manufacturer that makes a generic boot that will fit?

Have been looking for the same myself. Need just boots (to rebuild one of the lower joints I removed that is still tight and clean, but torn boot.)

I thought the dealer could order just the boots?

Maybe we should contact Moog or someone like that here in the states that rebuils or makes them.

IF
You could locate some polyurathane boots, you'd not likely have to replace them again. Enevry Suspension, Prothane, Performance Suspension Technology, check with those guys.

I replaced the rubber boots as an interim solution before I replaced the balljoints on my '84 300D. Energy Suspension makes "tierod end dust boots" part#9.13105G fits the lower balljoint tightly and fairly well. They don't have the retention spring like the OEM but they do stretch on and stay on. Better than no boot at all IMHO. Part#9.13101G works "decent" for the tierods. Not a great fit but again better than nothing for an interim solution. I have 3 13105G's left over and 1 13101G if anyone is interested. You can have them for the cost of USPS, @$1 I would think. Or go to www.suspension.com and order them yourself. First come, first serve, use email not PM. RT
