1992 300SD Fuel Consumption Mods?
Hi,
This is my first post on this forum. I just purchased a 1992 300SD on Ebay. This is my first Mercedes, but not my first diesel. With the high price of diesel, are there any mods I could do to the engine to improve the mpg? Also, on my fishing vessel, which has three Bergen slow turning mains, we are planning to utilize a fish oil/diesel blend (50/50) in order to mitigate the high cost of fuel. We will be able to produce the fish oil on board from the waste produced from the factory (heads, guts, etc.). We will not be making biofuel from the oil which removes the glycerides. Has any of you ever utilized straight bio oils blended with diesel in your mercedes diesels (not biofuel)? If so, did you experience any carbon buildup on the valves? Thanks Jonathan |
