Solenoid Pressure Regulator Valve Spring
Hello I trying to check/replace the Solenoid Pressure Regulator Valve Spring. I cannot find out where its at. Does anyone know and can point it out in the picture?
Here is the part I am trying to check/replace: http://www.transmissionspecialty.com/parts/parts/68942-01.htm Thanks, Adiel |

Dont look now but I think your car is upsidedown. Wouldn't a lift be easier? :D

Hehe, I used a special crane I made to turn the car 180 degrees. :D ...Actually I have the car dissasembled and really need to put it back together before tonight but cannot find where this spring is located!
Here is what the instructions say: 1. It is not neccessary to remove the valve body. Simply remove the pan and locate the right rear valve-retaining plate on the valve body (this also is near the solenoid case connector). 2. With the retaining plate removed, the valve lineup second from the back is the pressure regulator valve assembly. Does anyone know which "plate" they are referring to when they say "right rear valve-retaining plate"? Thanks, Adiel |
Well, reading that I would say its the one right at the corner of the filter. 4 screws holding the plate. Does it specify upper or lower anywhere?
Joe |
Thanks, nope they dont specify upper or lower. Here are the exact instructions:

Look under that cover I was talking about before.

I opened that plate but all I found was a plastic piece with a "+" sign. Here is a picture.

Uhhh, I think that's on the left side. Didn't the instructions specify the cover was on the right rear? It's a bit confusing with the upside down photo but the right on that photo is at the far side.
|
:) Yes your right. That was on the left side. I will be covering that up right now. However, I can't find the plate on the right side. :(
Thanks, Adiel |

I see three possible pieces that could be the "plate" they are referring to. Any ideas which one?
Thanks, Adiel |
I'm completely guessing here but I'd go for door number 2. By the way, have you called these guys to ask them? They also have an e-mail address so you could e-mail your last photo. It might save you time in the long run.

Thanks lrg, yes I did contact sonnax and all the support they can give me is the same instructions in that link. :( The other suggestion of "guessing" I would rather not do right now because to take out #2, you have to remove #3 in the diagram. I am sure someone out there must have done this before...
Thanks, Adiel |
:)Bump.
Ok, I could not finish the car last Friday and had to leave on a trip. I am back today Monday and am ready to continue working on this. I still have not figured out which "plate" they are referring to remove in order to get to the spring I am suppose to replace. Anyone done this before? Does anyone know which "plate" they are referring to when they say "right rear valve-retaining plate"? Thanks, Adiel |
...I still cannot figure out where this spring goes...
