Trans pressure gauge fittings?
Yes I searced mother(s). I've established that an 8mm banjo bolt and asorted hardware is needed and I can handle the rest, with the notable exception of what the line pressure is suposed to be. The latter is for another day though.
Where can I rob a banjo bolt from that'll do for this use? Lowes and Home Depot had none. Direction? I hate to order one stinking bolt and a couple washers off the internet. Is there something on some vehicle I can hunt up in a salvatge yard maybe?

I believe the banjo bolt on the back of the intake manifold and on the IP of the 617 is the right size if you can scrounge one. May be wrong, as I haven't pulled it from my spare IP yet. But, I thought it looked right when I checked my spare IP as I gathered my parts for my own trans gauge set. 8mm. banjo fitting (w/barb) Parker part# 34982-8-4 as per one lister.
The following quote I saved from a post by Marshall Booth, I believe (hope I'm crediting it correctly ). "The modulating pressure for a 722.315 transmission (with transmission at operating temperature of 80 deg C. & vacuum line disconnected) in drive at 50 km/h is 2.9 bar (if the revised pressure transducer is installed 3.3 bar). Working pressure 12.5 +/- 1.0 bar (14.3 +/- 1.0 with revised transducer). Governor pressure should be 1.2 bar at 30 km/h and 2.8 at 90 km/h with either transducer. All of those values are the same for a 722.303 transmission too except the working pressure at 50 km/h with a revised transducer which is a tad higher at 14.7 +/- 1.0 bar. " Edit: Just pulled the fuel related banjo bolt from the IP and it is NOT 8mm. More like a 12mm. The one on the back of the intake manifold to the overboost protection looks like a good candidate for 8mm., though.

Bolt for Tranny Test gauge.
Was looking over old post.
The Bolt {banjo fitting} you are looking for is the one on the back of the intake manifold. This has a plastic line that goes to the Shut off valve to the Alda. It is a 12mm. I found two at my local junk yard on two different cars. From the post above It look's like you already have settings. I have a manual if you have any other questions. Sorry it took so long. Hope you already fixed problem. Charlie, that's righ the AH that started the search thread. And dude they don't always work. But thanks for trying first. Oh yes I did this once with a handful of brass fittings. This is a real pain in the rear. With the banjo bolt it is easy! Last edited by Charlie Mitchel; 05-03-2004 at 01:11 PM. |

Thanks Charlie, I'll snag one of those banjo's and see what I can get put together. Will report back when I get it done.
