Holy Quietness Batman! 99 E300 TurboDiesel

First time I drove a 99 E320 TD today. My 84 is a truck compared to this machine. So quiet, smooth, great handling. Its got goobs of power. Sounds like a gas car. My neighbhor just bought one with 130K on it for $16,000. Don't know what they go for but I understand they are not for sale very often.

(my only comment........look at all the crap that can break)

That was an E300, not an E320. Yes, they are very nice.

If it was a 99 E320, then it was a gas car! Did it say Turbodiesel on the right side of the trunk lid?

The 2005 E320 CDI is a Diesel, but I don't know where you can one for $16K.

A '04 E320 (gas) was selling for $44.5K.
To heck with the E320 cdi, I want an E400 cdi. 0-60 in 6.7 Seconds.

Oh! whats that, it says: "The bad news is that citizens of California, Maine, Maryland, New York, and Vermont will not be able to partake, as the E320 CDI does not pass emission requirements for those five states"
oh well, I guess I better take that apartment in Florida, get a drivers license there so I can buy one and move to California after 6 months....

Rick,

Come on, you think I'm an idiot. Of course it was a diesel. I drove it, I looked inside the engine comparment and the trunk lid said turbodiesel.

Could it have said E320 on it???? I'll check again tonight.

That was a gentle ribbing. And the second time today my sarcasm didn't have the planned effect. Sorry, Eric. If it says E320, then it is misbadged.

With that new e320 cdi hitting the showrooms alot more e300d's will turning up on the market..

How bad is the e300d on maintenance compared to say a 300d-t.?
The e300d is a pretty nice looking car.

With the new CDI's on the market the resale should drop nicely on the old ones. In another 2 years or so nice W210 diesels will be under 10k hopefully.
