bypass the R/D temp switch

I broke off the threaded rod portion of the temperature switch on my new R/D. I was able to back out the threads so i could simply buy and install a new switch tomorrow. my first thoughts though were to bypass the switch and have the condensor fan turn on whenever the A/C compressor kicks in. ithink i recal Toyota doing it this way. Has anyone here done that on their MB diesel?

On the other hand i got thinking that the MB way with the temp switch may be better. at idle i'm sure i want the fan on when the A/C is running, but at highway speed why run the fan since the condensor will probably be sufficiently cooled by natural air flow. This way the fan turns on only when needed.

Any opinions?

I agree.... have you also upgraded to the 9 blade factory fan for your car ? Or maybe yours already had it ?
