Is PepBoys 15/40 oil same as Pennzoil?
WARNING... OIL THREAD....
The local PepBoys folks told me that their 15/40 house brand oil is the same as Pennzoil 15/40 LongLife for diesel. Can anyone confirm or deny this? At $1.19/qt this would be a good savings. I have been using the Pennzoil LongLife for a while.... $6.44/gal at Walmart.

I don't know if it is...
Is it worth taking the chance ? Oil at any price is cheap compared to fixing a worn out engine.... your car...your money..... your decision.... |

Don't think I would want Pennzoil in my vehicle anyway.

as long as oil is changed on the severe service schedule, any oil, with the correct spec. is good.
advantages of some of the more expensive oils is when oil changes are not on schedule and/or extended.. Once again, spec is the most important.
