Mercedes Benz and other firms once known for quality, but whose rep has slipped. Article from Sunday 5/09 Week In Review section illustrated with a Mercedes assembly line photo from 1974.

Not a very specific article as far as the MB portion of it goes. They touch on toll systems, cars and something in Shaghai. I wouldn't exactly say that there was exhaustive research done as it applies to MB.
