Question Quick Q - Direction of coolant flow?

Does the coolant in the w123 flow from the bottom of the radiator to the top, or top to bottom? I'd assume the latter, but by feeling the hose that didn't seem to be the case. Now I'm confused!

A while back "Leathermang" posted the pics from the shop manual of the T-Stat and whats going on as the engine heats up, think the thread was about someone running w/o a T stat. Do a search, that would answer you question if you can find it.

Top to bottom. What can you feel from the hose to answer the question?

it runs from top to bottom? if it ran out of the top of the radiator, then you would not be pumping anywater if you became even the slitest bit low on coolant. I'm not saying i know which way it runs, it just would not make sense to suck it out the top, especially if ther was not enough coolent to complete the loop. some one make it make sense, please.

Try testing rad. cap

I'm guessing you need to get a new radiator cap, then your upper hose will feel firm.

Coolant goes in the top of the radiator and is drawn by the pump from the bottom of the radiator.
