Cruies control
My car is a 1984 300D turbo 123. The problem is surging, the throttle going up and down.
Can a good mech. do any repair to this device. Is there anything inside that can be adjusted or cleaned or.... Thanks |

The two components suspected are the actuator and amplifier. the actuator is connected to you throttle linkage. The amp is under your dash and is just a plain goldish colored box. If your car is the same as mine it is to the left of the steering column. Good luck finding these pieces as they are EXPENSIVE! Someone else on this board cleans and repairs the amp and gets it to work again.

If you want a good reliable CC, best thing to do is to S-can the the POS OEM units and get a good aftermarket set-up. It's not too difficult. There are a few good ones. Do a search on the subject of "aftermarket cruise control".
