Cruise Control on a 1978 300D
I am about to troubleshoot the cruise control on my 1978 300D. All of my books have very little this system. The wiring diagram refers to a speed sensor but I am not sure of it's location? Has anyone set some guide lines for the troubleshooting process on this system?
Thanks Dave Thompson d2t@nwnatural.com |

I'd be interested in that as well. I've got an '83 300D turbo and the cruise actuator was disconnected when I bought the car. I assume there may be some problem with the actuator, but I'd like to test it out.

Turns out my problem was that the thing was disconnected.. I borrowed the linkage from my '84 and the cruise on the '83 works just fine. Now I just need to replace the linkage and the bracket that bolts to the valvecover.
Dave, I did find a page that you might find usefull. http://www.mbca.org/pages/tech/MBCA_Troubleshooting_cruise_cont.htm
