Just out of interest does any one have a w123 set up for touring or pics of w123s setup for touring?

Touring?

You mean like this:

New York City Touring Package: bullet proof glass, tires and an automated ma-deuce mounted in the trunk with the mirror remote wired to it's control.

Yellowstone Touring Package: Ketchup and mustard spray nozzles in visors and touch-pad instant-open door handles for the bear visiting area.

San Francisco Touring Package: Flower motif on doors, automatic condom dispenser mounted in glovebox, studded leather wheel and upholstery.

Arizona Touring Package: Peterbuilt made A/C system in lieu of trunk space, space-helmet tinted windows including windshield, coolant sprayers in wheel wells to keep tires from melting to pavement.

South Texas Touring Package: Chassis lowered, undersize chrome spoke wheels with spacers that place tires ~1' outside of wheel well. Dingle ball trim around edges of windows. Oversize windshield louver, welded/chromed chain 8" steering wheel.

Colorado Touring Package: Deer catcher (steel-beam grill protector welded to frame rails), suspension raised ~2' for off-road clearance, gun rack in rear window, trunk lid removed and replaced with cooler unit for deer and elk carcass preservation.

Florida Touring Package: Engine removed and replaced with a 1.5hp briggs and stratton, seats lowered in chassis to place drivers eye at dash level, steering box nut lossened for ~1 steering wheel revolution before activating steering mechanism, automated "Depends" dispenser in glovebox, replaceable absorbant pad in drivers seat.

For kicks we tried 100W bulbs in the low, high and fog lamps of my dad's 72 300SEL 3.5. I'm surprised the wiring and alternator put up with it for any amount of time.

It looked something like this but all black...

Paul,
It's those little Motorola business band walkie-talkies. :D

X-IV

On Christmas Island they use marine band for communicating with vehicles in the bush.

The only thing I can think of is the paper towel rack mounted inside the trunk lid. Works good, unless it's really windy when I open the trunk and forget to grab the roll before it unrolls. Seems like I forget to install the CB half the time.

I like that CB mount. I just had some jacks shift in my trunk and put a big dent right there, figure CB upgrade might be nice to cover the dent and have some folks to chat with on my bi annual drives between california and colorado.
