Parking break adjustment affect hyd. breaks?
I just adjusted my parking break in my 83 300sd by using the star wheels inside the back wheels, and by adding a bit of tension in the cam adjustment underneath the car. I went to park on a hill and the parking break works great, but the regular breaks seem a but less effective.
Is my mind playing tricks on me? BTW, I drove my wife's Subaru to the parts store about two hours earlier, and didn't dive the MBZ until after I adjusted the parking break. |

pata,
The parking brakes are completely independent from the service brakes. The parking brake are mechanically operated drum brakes inside the rear rotors therefore they do not interact with the service brakes which are hydraulically operated disc brakes. So it must be your mind playing tricks. P E H Last edited by P.E.Haiges; 06-06-2004 at 01:21 PM. |
