oil capacity on '80 NA 617 motor
How much oil will my '80 NA 617 (turbo-free ) engine take after draining.
Owner's manual is MIA. I picked up some Rotella 15w40. That should be fine yes? Mike

Oil capacity is 6.5 quarts. You might have to put in a bit less if you don't drain it completely (oil left in the lines, cooler...)

Oops,
I just dumped 2 gallons fo Delo 400 in mine. But it isn't overfull...

my '79 300SD holds 7.5 quarts at the full mark with a filter change.
