Tony,

What do you know about burning used ATF in your Diesel? I run fry oil and WO from local Chinese restaurants but have not tried ATF. It has a relatively low viscosity and I can't see any reason why it shouldn't burn. I am sure that it won't smell as good as WVO but mixed with WVO or Diesel it at least ought to burn.

My regards to Perty. I lived there from 1973 to 1977 and had a great time. I lived at #9 Colin st. near, is it King's or Queen's park just south of the downton?

Used ATF will run just fine but be sure of its orgin. Best if you use yours only.

I drained about 11 gallons of 50/50 Waste Motor Oil/ Regular Unleaded from my tank. I added a gallon of diesel and pulled the cigar hose to let my electric pump purge the lines until it smelled like diesel. No filter change required. Car runs great again and will leave town Tuesday or so for a hiking trip in the Appalachians.

I have been able to work through problems with veg oil without too many mysteries. This WMO is more puzzling. I think thinning it even more is the answer. In past experiments that has proven true. It would start out running fine and get worse with time. Adding more gasoline to the mix seemed to make it run good again.

The mixture that I drained was not thick, it was thin and ran out of the fuel line easily. It doesn't make sense to me. I like running veg much better than waste petroleum products.

Diesel from the pump is still my car's preferred fuel. Veg second, anything else a distant third and last place.

I am guessing that I could run my car on a mix of 75% regular unleaded and 25% WMO, it just doesn't seem intuitively appealing and doesn't inspire much confidence. At those proportions it would be far less economical than veg blends and SVO.

I thought about that. The stuff doesn't sit in the tank for that long so I don't worry about it. It's also filtered down to 1 micron (very slow but safe) to pull out any particles. I run up to 50% but I don't every fill up. maybe once a month to get rid of all the used from all 5 vehicles I service.
