Sealing Fuel line leak....

I gathered myself together and removed the intake manifold off my '97 E300 to clean out the soot/gunk and to check for cracked vacuum lines, wierd surging of air sound with RPMS, not all the time, but anyway...

When re-installing the manifold the mainifold lightly tapped the left most fuel line, line closest to the engine. Since the part that goes into the filter assembly is plastic, it cracked and I know have a fuel leak.

I tried using JB weld which helped but didn't solve it, since I don't have good access to the underneath of the plastic. I have to visit the stealership for a new part, but does anyone know of another good sealant that could be used in such a situation that is resistant to diesel fuel?

If this is the translucent fuel line from the lift pump to the filter, it could be replaced with flexible fuel line (the modern equivalent of rubber fuel line). Just add a couple of hose clamps to minimise chance of leaks
