A/C on 1977 300D
Ok,
Maybe I am beating on a dead horse, but I have not been able to find an answer to my question. I have a 1977 that was left for dead - maybe for a good reason. My question is how cold is the A/C supposed to get? Mine was recently recharged, has a new dryer, and it barely seems to blow cold air even on the "Auto/High" setting. Should I have the compressor checked? Or is the 1977 known for a low power A/C? I recently test drove a 1983 300TD that had a freezing AC; after 10 minutes of running the car at AC MAX you could make ice inside. All advice would be welcome. Thank you |
Cris,
When you find someone to fix the problem let me know. I live in Ingleside and have a 1975 115 300D that I have just gone through. I haven't gotten to the AC yet but I bet I will have the same problem as you. Did you convert your system to R-134? Kip Foss |
Nope, I have not done it yet. I just feel that my AC is slowly dying. And with the impending summer heat, I feel like driving my Volvo more. It gets freezing in less than 5 minutes.
