blower fan fuse problem 300td 1983

Hello - Pretty new car to me & have never used blower fan. I noticed it was no longer working but switch was on max - wife had used the car. So I set switch to off & replaced fuse, keyed on, put blower in position 1 - all okay, switch to position 3 - all okay - was fine no matter what position I put it in.

Next day, switch it to position 1 & nothing - fuse gone again.

It's a white 8A fuse - is this correct as I can't find reference to it anywhere.

Any other ideas why it works sometime & not others - short to earth or blower motor needing attention?

Steev

Should be a blue sucker. 25amp I think.

Both mine '84 300D and my wifes '83 300D have a blue fuse for the blower.

Brushes?

Could be your brushes are dragging too. Caused mine to do the same thing in the 240D. The blower motors are pretty easy to work on in the 123.
