240d injector - lost a piece- HELP!!
while cleaning my injectors, I lost the small piece called pressure pin. It fits between the spring and the nozzle needle.
It fell on the floor and I have already spent 2 hours looking everywhere. (no, it is not in my pant cuff ) I am hoping some one has an old injector and would like to sell the pin..

I have had things hit the ground and bounce into my pants leg cuff... way back.... will drive you crazy....
Do you think this thing would be attracted to a magnet ? I have one of the sears tool magnets about 18 inches long.. I have it hanging by a four foot loop of string... so I can stand up and 'drag' an area.... LOL I always search twice the maximum distance which I am sure the thing could have gone.... too many times it was outside what I would have sworn it could make it to... Another idea on something this small... Could you have imbedded it into your shoe sole ? Then perhaps it dropped off somewhere else... ? |

Frank,
You need the entire nozzle assembly. These parts are not mix and match. The pin is lapped to the nozzle body seat and if you just mix and match, you will likely end up with a bad set pressure and poor on-off performance (meaning it will leak and cause difficulties starting, especially cold, and likely knock or "nail" as it is described here). Try to get another whole nozzle assembly, either new or from a donor on the site. After you assemble the injector you will need to have the set pressure checked and possibly adjusted. Good luck, Jim

He's looking for the
The thrust pin's purpose is to accurately (but not with great precision) center the spring so the spring pressure is delivered along the long axis of the pintle instead of an off-center push.
