I am from Jersey also.... Notice the plate says RGJ XXX..... that means that the car was JUST registered a few days/weeks ago... it makes me think that someone bought the car and realized what a POS it is and is selling it on EBAY. The thing looks like a total mess with different colored parts etc....

I would definitely stay away unless I was buying for parts...

Shifts normally???
I don't see how, the vacuum lines going to the valvecover air switches are missing. How sdoes the tranny get its shift signal.
Lots of saltwater/air pitting on the oil filter and other alluminum parts. BUT lots of dust on the engine.
Doesn't add up.

Dave, the transmission gets its signal from the driver moving the shift lever with his hand...hopefully while the clutch pedal is depressed...... LOLOLOLOL.....

Carfax needs to go count the cylinders again, and look for the turbo they say is in there. Or maybe Carfax is correct and it's had a transplant??

Seriously, I think it's worth a look if the price doesn't bid up too much more. The deciding factor will probably be the rust level, and it's hard to determine that accurately from digital pictures, you pretty much have to look at it in person to decide if the rust level is within your comfort zone.

Paul, when this was first posted I emailed the seller and told him one of his cylinders did not have a fuel line going to it.....and that someone had stolen his turbocharger...... LOL
He said he would check to see why Carfax had it wrong.... so the pictures are correct....

Yeah, the seller says that Carfax shows the wrong engine. The description also says the engine was replaced, which make me wonder if it once was a 300D. If it stays under a kilobuck, it might be worth a look. I sure am glad we don't have rust problems like that down here in Gawd's Country.

Does that VIN look funny to you? My 84 vin doesn't look anything like that.
