As long as the proposed transmission has a removable bellhousing, and the motor you want to attach it to had a tranny with a removable bellhousing, it is relatively easy to mate the new tranny to the old bellhousing with an adaptor and/or some machining. I am working on a similar swap currently. It's about #308 on my list of things to do.
