Thinking about doing my interior......

Now that my car is finally mechanically sound and running great, I am thinking about doing my interior.

The drivers seat is pretty messed up and needs to be redone.

I got an estimate to do all the seats in MB tex for 1500.00. Sound crazy?

I plan on getting a few more estimates but this particular place does lots of Benz work

Thoughts

when you say redoing the seats for 1500, is that just new padding and covering or does it include new springs also if needed? I need new or nice used seats for my 115 240 D and 1500 sounds pretty good if i could get the springs redone too.

I have a quote for my drivers side chair: fixing a rip, large one, replacing the entire side and new springs $200,-

He had a 300Sl and a 280 cabriolet in his shop, so I think he knows what he's doing.

If by padding you mean the horse hair, no., it does not include that. I have the drivers side horsehair which he will change if and when.

The price includes all seats and head rests, plus any and all defective springs.

I think if I had really icky seats I would (1) check out the junkyards, and (2) consider fixing the upholstery and putting on a nice set of sheepskins.

That would certainly look nice and cost less than $1500.

My 300TD wagon has leather upholstery. I had a hole in the passenger's seat and a 3' gash on the left side of the driver's seat. I got some stuff from leatherique, a couple of pieces of leather from an upholsterer for $10 and with some contact cement patched the hole and the gash, filled it with some "leather bondo" (can'tr recall the real name) and recolored the seats.

They don't look new new, but they don't look bad at all.

Total cost was around $120.

The back seats were just a little worn.
