87 300D Lights flicker On&Off whether Car is running or not...
 

On my new used Mercedes 87 300D, the Lights flicker on and off unexpectedly under the following unexpected conditions:

I. When the Car is parked and I "Jolt" it.

II. After the Car is shut off and powered down, Key set to "0"
position.

III. Sometimes, when the car is running. The Lights will come on and Flicker, which is fine except i am not a Police Car or emergency vehicle. The only way to override this is to Turn the Lights on, so that you don't alarm drivers ahead of you. Also I can hear the Relay flickering behind the Glove Box.

As to the possible solution of replacing the Lighting Relay, it costs $205, so obviously its better to do some rearch here First. Is their some funny interaction with the alarm system going on here?

My first thought is a bad ground connection.
