Compression specs for 1987 MB300TD

I have an acquaintance who's just emailed me asking about compression specs for a prospective buy he's contemplating.

He's had a compression test done and the numbers are thus:

1 - 390
2 - 410
3 - 390
4 - 390
5 - 390
6 - 390

Can anyone furnish the service limit and normal range for this engine? To my eye, these look quite good for your garden-variety diesel, but without real specs I am only guessing.

First, what is the year/model of the car being tested?
Mileage on the car?
Maintence records?
Frequent oil changes?
These questions will help give better responses from people.

A diesel needs 300+psi to be "healthy."
255psi minimum to ignite Diesel.
There is no max. as far as I have ever seen.

Anything, to me, above 350psi on a small diesel is good.

I say you have very good compression. Take care of it.

Addressed in the first sentence of my post. I'm seeking MB's specifications, not opinions on whether my acquaintence should or should not purchase the vehicle.

Does anyone have the MB numbers on service limit (that's the lowest number that's considered normal before a rebuild is needed) and range?

Service limit is 300 psi, new condition is about 425, I think (last number may be off).

The compression in that engine is fine. I believe the compression ratio is something like 20.5 to 1, but I don't remember exactly.

FWIW. I usually see 400 to 410 PSI on an engine with fresh rings, valve job, and NO carbon.

377-464 psi with the range within the engine not exceeding 44 psi are specifications for a NEW engine. The numbers you post are well within that range.
