Disabling EGR in 606 Non-Turbo Diesel Engine
I have a '95 E300 Diesel with the 606 Non-Turbo Engine. I would like to disable the EGR by removing and blocking the vacuum hose going to it. Will this by itself do it, or do I also need to block the EGR valve. Is there any harm in doing so?
Thanks Phil

Not really, but it will light the "check engine" light. It looks for a manifold airflow (Or is it pressure?) change when the valve opens. Check here for all the answers to your OM606 EGR "tests" Basicly, you remove the exhaust side of the EGR tube form the manifold and plug the manifold. Then just attach a filter to the end of the tube and hope nobody will notice but you... |
