1986 300SDL Fuel Leak on Blacktop Driveway
I had a leak in my injector hoses that caused diesel fuel to spill onto my blacktop driveway. Is there an easy way to remove it?

I guess it depends if we're talking mini-spill or Exxon Valdez proportions here
For typical oil spills I have used a product called "Oil Dry" which can be found at most automotive/hardware stores (at least here in Canada). It is a granular product that you spread over the surface of the spill and it will soak up the fuel oil. Another more common household item that also works well is Kitty Litter. With either one, spread about 1/4" over the surface and leave overnight. You can sweep up the oil-laden residue the next day. Probably a wash-down with a water soluble engine degreaser will remove the rest. Good Luck Andy. |
