Turbocharged 300Ds were for the U.S. only.

Euro car is also likely to have cloth interior and manual air conditioning controls. It might also have a manual transmission. There's a Euro 300D with manny tranny here at work that I have my eye on.

If you've ever tried to work on an automatic climate control or automatic transmission, you wouldn't call the differences "cosmetic." What exactly were you looking for?

Well, ur right, those are not really cosmetic, but auto vs manual transmision variations are in US versions as well. I thought I read once that Euro 300s had a better performance, not needing to adhere to US emmsion standards or something like that. As for A/C thats way over my head...
