260 Miles, almost half a tank to go...

I have put 260 mostly city miles on my SDL(since the ip was replaced) and have almost 1/2 tank left. I figure at minimum, I will get at least 450 for city driving, which is BETTER , than my wife's new 4 cyl ACCORD.

LOVE MY DIESEL

PLUS, diesel is 30cents less than regular gas now. Yeeeaaaaaaa!

Looks GREAT!

I'd say it was worth the wait.
The car is beautiful. Hard to believe it's covered so much ground. How much fuel does it hold? Are you running the AC all the time?

Cool plantman, sounds good :)

sounds about right, I have been keeping a spread-sheet on the ol' mb. last tank, from 6/8 to 6/30, in city, ran 445 miles on one tank. It's nice to be pampered, room to be comfty, and not watch the ol' fuel gauge drop every time ya turn the key. and I only filled the tank cause I have to work right up to the 4th, then do a little bit of travel'n on the 4th-5th with the grandson. maybe next time run it till the light comes on. on the average getting 27 mpg.

My 240D can get past the 400 mile mark on a tank driving 90% in town easy.

Every now and then, just for a reality check, I take my 560SL out for a spin. I can literally watch the gas guage fall on that one. And with high test!

On the highway I have gotten almost 600 miles on a tank in the SDL. Lucky to get 300 on the SL.

Sounds about right - that comes to ~19mpg around town (the SDL has a 23.8 gallon tank). I average 19-23 around town and 25-28 on pure highway runs. Nice looking example, BTW. I will post some pics of mine, particularly the showroom interior, whenever I can find the time.

Just filled up the wife's Jetta today and it was 576 miles on the tank of 70% city 30% highway driving. I have noticed over the years with the TDI's that low cetane fuel (42 cetane) that we have to use at most stations, when compaired to 50+ cetane very clean fuel can make 4 to 6 mpg difference in fuel eccomony and as much as 15 to 20 mph on the top end speed. Yes the last tank was the low cetane crap the wife bought. The AMOCO Premier and PowerBlend is about the best fuel you can buy and runs from 48 to 52 cetane for the PowerBlend and 50 to 56 cetane for Premier.

On the old 240D I have to do a little more work before it will be ready to do any of that kind of mileage and fuel testing.

I got over 600 miles per tankful hwy, driving from NJ to Miami last year when I bought it.

I filled up in Jersey, then again somewhere in North or South Carolina, then once more here in Florida. I had 3/4 of a tank when I got to my driveway.....

Amazing fuel economy, considering the size of this car.

I drove 753 miles from here in southeast MO to Columbia SC in 9.5 hours on one tank of fuel and 2 bladder stops in my '00 VW New Beetle TDI. If you do the math on that you will see I was hauling butt. Wish I had kept the NB and sold the Jetta.
