OM603 - How to access the overflow tank?

This is on a 1987 300D. Do I need to remove the fender, or is it accessible by removing the covering on the inside of the wheel wells?

speedy300Dturbo,

I never did this, but there is a removable panel on the inner fender well, held in place with sheetmetal type screws on a W126. I assume the same is true for the W124. Jim

The overflow tank resides back under the inner fender liner, along with about 10 lbs of dirt, sand, rocks, dead rodents and pine needles. I highly recommend every 124 owner remove their fender liners every year or two as a preventative measure.

Old thread, but I'm wondering if anyone has attempted this lately. I'll try sometime this week.
