83 300CD vacuum vrs tranny question

I had the classic hard 1-2 shift. Bought the Mighty Vac, replaced the modulator, replaced the little plastic 3/2 valve finger things,
replaced the ATF and filter, some vac hose, and I think its better.....but its still pretty rough, particulary when hot.
So here's my question: Can any one tell me the correct vacuum levels (measuered at the tranny lets say) as a fuction of the throttle position.
Why I ask:
I get about 14 in Hg vacuum at 0 throttle. As I crack it open and the first little switchvalve (on valve cover) gets pushed in the vacuum drops to 5 in Hg. Here it stays untill the throttle is about half open and then the vacuum gradualy goes to 0 as the throttle goes to full open.
I am thinking that 5 inHg on the 1-2 shift is too little and thats why I get the whammie from the tranny!

Thanks for any help/suggestions you can provide.

Chad
