Have a call into RMFI regarding an order of the DNO SD 240////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// nozzles (up to 1985 617) and DNO SD 265 nozzles (1985 and up 603).
Time to fish or cut bait, those who want tips, LMK how many and which and be prepared to paypal the funds. Cost will be ~$38/each for genuine German made Bosch nozzles if I can get 20 or more on the order (this includes all types of nozzles, 240/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// and 265.) They will only take a few days and I will pick up and split the shipment and send to those who've ordered them via Priority mail (will probably cost around $4 for that, shouldn't be any more) Those who want me to install and balance in your injectors, email me before we order so I know how many I'm sending out and how many will be used in injectors.

DNO SD 240 nozzles were NOT fitted to 123 series 616 and 617 engines after October 1981. Four different types of nozzle were fitted to these engines during the production run as PC chambers were redesigned. There is a BIG difference between SD 240 and SD 240/ and the safest way to find the correct part is to take your engine No. along to an MB agent and check against the parts data-base. Nozzles manufactured in the EU (i.e. before production ceased in 2002) are easily identified by their packaging. EU nozzles were dipped in thick brown wax protection and packed in individual yellow Bosch boxes. All Bosch DN nozzles dipped in oil and in plastic packaging are of Indian origin. Also Indian nozzles are a ground finish on the pintle face of the nozzle – EU nozzles are a lapped finish on this face.

So in my above post, since the 240/ are the only nozzles you can get now and there are no plain 240 nozzles (without the "/"), just look at the 240 and assume 240/.

Nozzles specified for 123 series diesels are: DNO SD 220 DNO SD 2400 DNO SD 240 (0,15mm dia jet) DNO SD 240/ (0,20mm dia jet) DNO SD 261(alternative) I am the Bosch distributor for my area and stock all of them. Your last paragraph ‘just look at the 240 and assume 240/' pretty well sums up your post. You don’t have any experience with fuel injection equipment do you.

Beagle might be right on paper, but I wonder if in reality it really matters whether you get 240 or 240/ considering the crap that Bosch has been putting out lately. It seems like the spray pattern of the Indian nozzles is all over the place and most of them squirt under low pressure. Beagle, as a Bosch distributer, how do you deal with this and what's your experience with these Indian nozzles?

Okay Beagle,
since you are a Bosch distributor and have all the nozzles in stock, how about some EU/German nozzles? How much? No one else seems to be able to get them...? RT

Interesting info regarding the 240 and 240/ nozzle.
I have two sets of used injectors. One with KCA30S46 body and 240/ nozzle. Another set with KCA30S35/4 body and 240 nozzle. Both are marked 135 bar, but the KCA30S35/4 has shorter body and shorter spring comparing to KCA30S46. Anyone knows the history behind it?

You obviously can't figure out the point so I'll make it simple enough for an eigth grader to figure out. THE NOZZLES IN QUESTION ABOVE IN THE BULK ORDER THAT ARE THE ONLY NOZZLES AVAILABLE THROUGH ANY DISTRIBUTOR I HAVE ACCESS TO ARE 240/. WHEN I STATE 240 ABOVE, IT IS AN ABREVIATION FOR 240/ SINCE THE 240 ARE NO LONGER USED. Is that simple enough for you to figure out? Apparently, instead of offering to do what I've offered to do as a favor to forum members, you would rather slam anyone who DOES want to support fellow members here. You can't be constructive, but would rather challenge the 31 years I have in mechanical engineering and automotive repair, so all I will say to that is, find another thread to be non-constructive on!
