Did they disturb the injection pump timing when they worked on the a/c problem?
The majority of diesel problems fall under fuel supply problems I have heard... Just trying to brainstorm thanks. |

Try changing the fuel filters.

mbshop,
For any loss of power in a Diesel, I would first look at the inline filter, then the can main filter then the strainer in the fuel tank. If cleaning or replacing these didn't solve the problem, I would look for a leak in the fuel lines or primer pump that might allow air to get into fuel system. If the above two fixes didn't fix the problem, I would quiz the mechanic that worked on it last to find out what he did that might have caused the problem. When a problem occurs suddenly after a repair, it is usually a result of the repair. P E H |

Don't know if your vehicle has the same fuel line, but on one of mine the short section of fuel line running from the steel lines to the fuel filter developed leaks. Not big enough to leak much fuel out, but would suck air in. Lost power quickly.
I was changing the in line filter and noticed the line looked slightly wet, took it off and it was easy to see the cracks. Changed it and found power again. Yes, that head snapping power only an old diesel can give. |
