heater hose routing over oil filter?

Just replaced that small curvy hose that goes from the rear of the block to the firewall, over the oil filter housing.

Does the hose actually rest on the top of the housing? Somehow that worries me that it will get too hot and melt the hose!

thanks wise ones...

On my 123s, there's a large rubber grommet/doughnut that fits around the hose that sits on top of the oil filter housing thus protecting the hose. I could probably find the part # if you would like.

The hose should not touch the filter housing even without the "donut", on all og my W123 300Ds, the "donut" is in place, and it is touching the housing.

You might need to trim the end of the hose that attaches to the block. That should move it over enough to clear the housing.
