replacing engine computer
 

has anybody had to replace their engine computer before? do you just unplug the old one and plug in the new one? or is there more to it?

Why are you replacing the computer? Be sure its a computer problem than just a component problem like idle speed actuator or something like that. What are the symtoms?

i posted on this earlier and went into more detail, but the computer isnt sending a signal to the EGR vacuum transducer. both an indie shop and a dealership have told me that the computer needs to be replaced. the dealership even charged me $250 just to tell me that! then proceeded to quote me $2200 to do the work! so if its not the computer, ill have to go get my money back. i got a used one from PGA fer' cheap, and its got a 100 day warranty.
