Manual 5 speed for W123 on German ebay

There is a 5-speed manual on ebaymotors.de. The description says that it has 150,000 km on it, which is only 90,000 miles. Has anybody ever tried to buy anything like that from Germany? What would it cost to ship? Who does that kind of shipping?

Says they'll ship to Germany and Europe (hmm, I thought Germany was IN Europe???).

But, in the right box, you could ship it DHL Freight.

EBAY, 5 speed ans Zombification

I have purchsed many items form Gremany including automobile hardware, pens and watches. I have been screwed twice but not by auto guys. I would do the usual diligence re sellers feedback. Shipping for small parts 10-30 EUROs. transmission probably 50 EU.

Goodluck. If you find a bunch of these I would go in on a group buy I need two of them for my current conversions projects.

I don't need a transmission yet, but I believe that time is coming. I figure I will check ebaymotors.de now and then just to get an idea of what's available. 50 EUR for shipping isn't bad at all.

Seller isBritish ...

...so he's able to respond to your inquiries in your native tongue.

I think that this trans was sold on German eBay a couple of months ago. I don't know why it's listed again.

Just for grins, I ran a shipping quote through UPS international freight. Berlin to Austin, 90 pounds, you package it = $370USD

I believe I'll hold out for one on this side of the pond.

Europe uses "," instead of decimals. So 9,99 Euro is 9.99 dollars.

Funny, I just pulled a 5-speed out of a 190E today at the yard. ODO showed 124k on it, rear end was locked up though?

Yeah, but I rememebr someone saying that a 5 speed out of an OM60x won't work with an OM61x.

Or was that info wrong?

No that's correct. The front housing looks "close", but the starter is on the drivers side, instead of pass like on 617's.

Still couldn't pass it up though and see something that has a finite supply get crushed.

Har, that bottom pic is a wee bit 'o wishful thinking, ain't it?

Ya know, I'll just bet you could put the guts and tailpiece of one of those 5-speeds into the diesel's one-piece 4-speed case to get the starter wart over onto the right-hand side.
