Okay I have 3 sets available

I got PM/replies in this order:
pawoSD
Brian Carlton
Boneheaddoctor
gauge

Dad is scoring me some more sockets next wrecking yard visit so I can probably get you a set gauge.
If you guys can sport me shipping money I will get some of those bubble wrap envelopes and send them out.

If you first three could email me your mailing addresses, I will mail them off as soon as I get some envelopes. I am guessing like 5 bucks per set? That'll prolly cover the envelopes as well

I'll check it out and get back to you.

Brandon

No problem...as dad and I collect more of these things I will saturate the market!
He is currently down in Georgia and found a bunch of w123's and a w123 wagon getting boned out so I will have him nab up the goods

Got the sockets today and put them right in...took less than 30 mins Lots of brake lighting on both cars now! Excellent! Thanks again for sending those!

I was wondering....today I was at autozone picking up some goodies....and when I was in the lighting section getting the mod-bulbs (regular 21 watt brake lights) I saw that they have direct fit "high intensity" 50 watt versions of these bulbs I was thinking I may put...4 or so in my car but ONLY if the fuse/wiring could handle that....would it blow or strain the wiring or fuses for the brakes if I boosted the current 21/21/21/21 watt configuration to 50/50/50/50? I didn't buy any as I was worried about that, if I can do it I will though, that'd be some intense brake lighting So at night first the people would see all red, then a cloud of smoke.... Would this work though? Or would it be ok if I did the inner (mod lamps) with the 50's and had a 21/50/50/21 watt across the back....

200watts of brake lights would also be an awesome tool for getting tailgaters to fall back, when they can't see they're going to retreat!

Hmmm..., especially in a wagon that doesn't have any place to put extra bulbs!

Definatley.....the wagons could seriously benefit from bulbs like that. Does anyone know if it'd be too much for the electrical components to handle??

200W is about 15 amps or so. Personally, I don't like the current draw, however, being the fact that they are brake lights, and run very intermittent duty, you probably will be OK. You might run into fuse issues however.

I'd be more concerned with the heat. If the 50W bulbs are conventional bulbs, you might be looking at melting some plastic.

I might buy two of them and see what they do if I put them in the inner (larger space) fog light sockets....there's enough room in there where heat shouldn't be a problem, for the other sockets I'm not too sure though. 15 amps is a lot....perhaps I will just "try" a couple in those inner sockets to check the heat output and fuse survival.....if its too extreme I'll just leave the 21 watt in there....its too bad they don't have any that are more of a middle ground...like 35 watts or something....I'll look for some....50 is a tad extreme....

I've found that the 4 21 watt bulbs is PLENTY of light for most drivers. You have to remember thats 84 watts of red light coming out the back of your car when braking. IMHO...I think its enough. 50 would be good on a wagon or something where you only have the space for 2 bulbs but the improvement is quite substantial over the dual 21 watts compared to the 4 21's on the sedans

P.S. Everyone else get their sockets?

Yeah I was going a bit crazy there....I have decided to leave it alone and stick with the 21watt bulbs.....

I went around the web and read about the stuff and some horror stories of overtaxing the wires....etc......unpleasant things can happen when exceeding the rating of the system.

I agree though, the 4 21 watt bulbs do provide quite a bit of light

With my crappy 65Amp alternator powering my aftermarket headlights, when I press on the brake at idle my headlights, dash lights, etc. dim ever so slightly

I noticed at night that when somebody was behind me and there was a sign on the road, when I stepped on my brakes w/ my brake light mod, that reflective sign turned MUCH redder than what the car behind me was putting out! And I think the car behind was a latemodel Lexus RX series SUV w/ LED taillights. It happens all the time with other vehicles as well, latemodel or not. Seems like the key is the reflective properties of the taillight itself. Just make sure they're clean!

Very much satisfied with the "standard" brake light mod w/ regular 21W bulbs!
