Alignment question

Recently, I took my 1980 300sd in for an alignment and everything worked out OK but the alignment man said that he thought the car still pulled to the right and he could not adjust it any more than the did because it was already adjusted as far as it would go.

He was not trying to sell me any more work but I was wondering if I need to rebuild the steering box or if there is an adjustment there or somewhere else that would allow more adjustment.

I cannot notice any pulling to either side but imagine that someday, I will notice it and no one will be able to adjust it any more.

Any advice?

Thanks

With increased competition in the manufacturing area, alignments shops are seeing more irregular tires (cost cutting). Try rotating the tires front to back.

If you don't notice the pulling then don't worry about it.

Pulling is caused by a variation between the left and right hand camber and castor. pulling can also be cause by tyres as previously mentioned. Rebuilding you steering box will have no effect on any pulling problem.

I wouldn't worry about it unless to are wearing tyres or you notice the pulling. do you have a print out from the wheel alignment or do you know what the toe, camber and castor were set at?

I didn't get any info about the alignment but he did spend a couple of hours trying to get it perfect. He has a very good reputation and did move tires around etc.

It is running well but I guess that I was just wondering about what to do if it pulls on the next alignment and cannot be adjusted out.

Thanks for responding
