I love it! Definitely worth the 4 hours it took me. 1.5 to remove the cover, 1.5 to remover the limiter itself after I dropped it down in there once and an hour to replace everything. I even installed allen head screws in place of the slotted screw bits. It took so long because I left the oil filter on the motor.

As for my EGTs, they went up. Surprisingly not as much as I thought though. Maybe its due to the cold ambient temps here but my EGTs still have yet to get above 1000*. Even while I get on it on the highway, they stay around 750-850*.

As for power, I've got plenty! Being the fool that I am, I didn't get a baseline 0-60 time, but I can say that the car feels exponentially faster. Of course this is a relative term as I'm not driving a Bugatti, but it is much more quicker than before. The biggest change in power is above 2000 rpm. I also have very little black smoke. Only a faint wisp when I rev in Park.

I will answer any questions anyone has along with post more results as they come up. For now I'm going to enjoy my power increase.

I currently have the wastegate hose disconnected. Probably not the best, but my EGTs are low so why not. The max boost I have gotten was about 24 while going uphill on the highway. This was only for a second.

There didn't look to be a gasket on top of the ALDA but there was definitely one on the back plate.

What part number are you referring to?

Your EGT is PRE turbo correct?

Congrats on the extra power!

Correct. bgkast made a pictorial about how he installed his pre-turbo, so I followed what he did. That was easier than an oil changed compared to removing the limiter though.....

Just making sure! You're EGTs are quite low compared to what some others have seen, and didn't want you to go melting your engine...

winmutt, I would suggest setting aside a good amount of time to do this. I did because I didn't want to rush and therefore possibly screw something up. It was daunting at first, but if a 17 year old can do it in an afternoon, I do not see anyone else with mechanical knowledge having a problem. Just take your time.

I'll probably do it first thing sunday morning, need to do the back brake pads (got HBC greens for replacements!) and drop the rear springs to replace the spring shims.

Very bad idea. Put it back on and adjust it right. 24psi is it's choke line (Max RPM) before it pukes.

the only reason i havent done this yet is, i dont want crazy black smoke and playing with the TC isnt something i want to go on dates with every afternoon

i have the stock down pipe but 3 inch right after after the bend, im going to wrap it, so hopefully i will spool a lil faster, i do have a lil smaller version of the garrett, plus the IC for more dence air

alda is still on, anyone think i will be forced to play with the TC because of black smoke?

who has black smoke?!!

I took my ALDA off a few months ago. Only a slight wisp of black smoke. Even with the limiter removed, I have the same amount. I do plan on tweaking the TC later on. I'd like to get an intercooler on it first.
