Thats alot of MB's racing in one place. :D

Beating an 07 SLK350 and 93 400E is either very impressive or they weren't trying. :P

Johnhef 05-01-2008 10:13 PM

They're been doing it longer then I have :) both were running track tires.

That's a scrub radius issue, not bump steer. Bump steer is a change in toe as the suspension moves up and down.

Oh boy, were the others even trying? You've got a GREAT place in that list! I bet it has more to do with the driver than the car. The 16 valvers should be about perfect for autocross.

When is your next autocross? My area has a couple the first weekend of each month in my area. I may try to head out.

I just put these camber plates from RDM TEK on my 500E, stiffened up the front end a bit, increased turn-in feel, yet still rides great on the freeway:

I think I may go with their rear camber kit too because Im running 275/35/18 tires in back and I don't want to wear them down too fast, I have about -3.5 degrees in the back.

It was today, I just got home.

Did pretty well again, beat one of the 400E's this time. Still waiting for the results to be posted.

Are the other guys running with ebrakes engaged, or pulling a huge trailer? THe look slooooooooooooow compared to your time!

Well done! You must be pretty happy now.

Still waiting on video, I'll post them to youtube when I get them.

Deni 05-28-2008 02:25 AM

What mods do you have on your engine? What sort of tires are those?

Johnhef 05-30-2008 07:52 PM

Engine- nothing much really, no emissions devices, no alda, ~14 or so psi.

Tires are BF Goodrich R1's.

Got the video uploaded but having a snafu with youtube, I keep getting an error message so I'll keep working on it and post the link as soon as I figure it out.

Johnhef 05-30-2008 08:03 PM

ahh cool it works now, enjoy!

Zeitgeist 05-30-2008 11:50 PM

Hey, that's pretty cool. I'm currently setting my S124 up for the same sort of fun with SL600 brakes, Limo/500E bars, H&R springs, Bilstein Sports and N2O/Propane injection. Can't wait to see how things go with that setup. Though I've always wanted to try my hand, I've never actually autocrossed, so this should be interesting.

Deni 05-31-2008 04:30 PM

That's interesting, no wheel spin at the start but in second yes. Do you have an automatic?

I can't see the louvres on the right side fender. Don't the USA turbos have them?

For whatever reason, here in North America only the '87 190D 2.5 Turbo, '90-'93 300D 2.5 Turbo and '95 E300D had the louvered fenders.
