Om602 and 603 talk.
Looks like this forum is exclusively about the om617 engine .
I'm more interested on the om602 engine since that's what I have. I have 2 questions. What pump do I have (I have a '92 european om602) and can I find larger plungers easier than the ones for the IPs of om617? Thanks! Deni

Does the pump need to be enlarged (bored) for the 7MM elements?

The plungers come with their own matching barrels.

How much would shipping be to Tirane, Albania? How difficult is it to change the elements?

2. The injection shop charged me 250 EUR to swap the elements and do the basic adjustments. (This was the first inj. shop I asked, now I have alternatives but no M-pumps and / or no MW-elements right now to do). 10 hours to Split? It takes me 18 to Split from where I live, so it is closer for you To be honest: The Fins are cooking also just with water... different water but basically the same... If you understand the principals of an IP and have someone how can do the swap (there are special tools which make the job easier, adjustment has to be done on a bench anyway) just do it and adapt the governor to your engine. The question of max. HP is in most case the available air. Tom |

Is there any pictorial how to change the plungers on a M pump?

for both types of pumps:
governor off the cam shaft has to be taken out, in general the spring loaded rollers must be lifted up (on all cylinders) to take out the cam shaft. This is dangerous if you do not have the special tools. That's it, all other parts came out easily. Assembling: Pushing back the spring loaded rollers and inserting the special tool are the difficult jobs. The major cost is the bench work and often the guys make trouble (and huge prices) when an idiot already put his fingers into a pump. This was my experience here in Germany. Tom |
