I've considered this pump strictly as a booster for the mechanical lift pump. There's a nice section of hose up under the hood where it would be easy to mount. The only other thing is that to make a safe, proper installation, you need to put in an impact sensing shut off switch in case you're in an accident.

what'd you need an impact sensor for? there isn't one originally on these cars.

It shuts off the electric pump in the event of an accident. If the switch is not there and a fire starts, the pump can continue running and spewing fuel on the fire. It's not quite as big a deal on a diesel but still...

After installing a 14 psi pump,I could now get higher MPGs no matter how much fuel in the tank, plus added power.
If that helped you there is a problem with your stock lift pump.

The only problem with that is when someone hit and runs you, you won't be able to chase them down and beat them until the cops pull you off.

No lift pump is fine, its just the added pressure, added about 3 mpg in city, and 5 on interstate.
See in my case with alt. fuels sometimes,I located in in the rear.I can push both tanks.

The change may be due to altering the pressure to the IP will alter the injection timing, as does using different fuels. You may be just making up for the losses you get from using alternative fuels.
