The words "glasspack" and "sound deadening" do not work together.

Cmon' the glasspack should at least take the edge off for a while until it fills with soot

Resonator is hollow, makes no sence remove the muffler and you will see a power gain..

Hate to rain on your parade but that puppy needs to dump out to the side on the TD.

I would like to hear a factual analysis on this.

This year with the leMons car we are taking the down pipe routing it through the hood and running as a stack

Define needs. It already sticks out a bit further than stock but not too much, and there is no diesel smell in the cabin. I've never scraped the bumper or reverse lights, so I'm not worried about it hitting. I'll sacrifice a bit of smoke all over the tailgate for a cleaner reverse light. My wife's wagon puts out more smoke on the tailgate than mine, which needs minimal cleaning during the weekly washing. BTW it appears my egt's are a bit lower, the 3000 rpm cruising is not louder at all, and it across most rpm's the sound level is increased only little. I knew I should have done this sooner.

The wagons have a large air vortex at the back that sucks in the exhaust. You might not smell it because of door seals doing their job but the paint will show it soon enough.

A glasspack will mellow the sound more than no muffler at all - certainly better than a straight pipe. Especially if you use one of the long ones with a 30 inch body and 2-1/2 inch core pipe.

And if you install the glasspack "backwards" - turn the internal louvers to where the openings face the back (instead of the front) - they won't pack with soot as much or as fast as if you install them facing forward (the "normal" way)...

Yup. Dump it out to the side. Particularly if you have bambinos in the back.

My doors don't like to close when all the others are already closed- I have great door seals. All wagons exhaust exits the rear, near the side, but not out the side. If I get quite a bit more smoke on the tailgate I'll reroute, or for just about any other reason... MCD.
